Preliminary Plans
MediCorp Health System's key goal in designing a new Stafford campus is to develop a highly efficient campus that is patient-centered, focused on safety and built with the most advanced technology. It will also be designed with room to grow and, because of our location to Washington DC, with emergency preparedness enhancements.
The Stafford Hospital Center will be home to a 100-bed acute care hospital, imaging center and medical office space.
Site Location
The proposed Stafford Hospital Medical Campus will be located on a 72-acre campus at the corner of Route 630 (Courthouse Rd.) and Route 1. It will be easily accessible from I-95. The campus site includes wetlands, and MediCorp has begun to work with local environmental groups to preserve this area for community use.
Other Benefits
Stafford Hospital Center will bring more health care services into Stafford County. As the new hospital opens, residents can expect to see more physician offices open, with a wider variety of specialists available.
Stafford residents will also have access to more outpatient surgery, imaging (x-rays and advanced technology) and other important services in their community.
These services will be easy to access for community members and EMS services. Stafford Hospital Center is located within 10 miles of most residents.
