Stafford Hospital Center Foundation: Supporting a New Standard for Community Health Care Stafford Hospital Center (SHC) Foundation ended 2008 marking its first full year in operation. The SHC Foundation Board of Trustees (listed under "Board of Trustees"), worked hard to make the organization's first annual SHC Foundation Cup an extraordinary success, raising funds to support the operations of the new Stafford Hospital Center. In addition to hosting a successful fundraising event, SHC Foundation awarded the first of many grants to community organizations through the SHC Community Service Fund. A selection committee of community members reviews and makes recommendations for grant awards bi-annually. This type of grant-making creates partnerships between the SHC Foundation and community nonprofit organizations that address health issues confronting the residents of Stafford County. SHC Foundation works to enhance the health, quality of life, and vitality of Stafford County.
