At MediCorp, we understand that spiritual care is part of the healing process and that simply being in a hospital, hospice, or rehabilitation facility can create great stress for patients and loved ones. That's why MediCorp has dedicated spiritual care resources to make sure that the spiritual needs of all patients, residents, families, and even physicians, nurses, and other Associates are identified and met. Facilities with dedicated programs include Mary Washington Hospital, Snowden at Fredericksburg, Mary Washington Hospice, and Carriage Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The Pastoral Care staff works to supplement the spiritual care provided by community ministers. Our Chaplains conduct individual visits, participate in inter-disciplinary treatment teams, lead regular and seasonal worship services, and perform religious rites and rituals upon request. Mary Washington Hospital houses a beautiful chapel that provides a place for people of all faiths to nurture their spirit through prayer, reflection and meditation. Mary Washington Hospital's Pastoral Care Department offers ministry training in an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education program through an arrangement with Virginia Commonwealth University. Participants in this program serve as Chaplain Interns at the hospital and occasionally at other MediCorp entities. More information is available by contacting the department directly.
