Robotic Surgery Program The da Vinci Surgical System brings state-of-the-art robotic technology to Mary Washington Hospital. It enhances surgical capabilities, giving surgeons the ability to perform complex surgeries through tiny surgical openings. It is an extension of the surgeon, translating surgical hand movements into precise movements of micro-instruments.Robotic Assisted Procedures The da Vinci is currently being used to support urologists in the treatment of prostate cancer. One of the most common cancers, prostate cancer can be treated with full recovery if found in the early stages. This exciting new technology will also be expanded to general surgery, gynecologic surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery.
