From infants to seniors, Mary Washington Hospital offers complete health care for your family. In addition to our Surgical Services and Family Birth Place, we offer state-of-the-art medical care.

Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department has 50 treatment areas, making it one of the largest in Virginia. As the third busiest hospital in our state, we are staffed with experienced, Board-certified emergency medicine physicians and critical care certified nurses. This is all backed up by advanced technology, including on-site radiology and lab services. In addition, we are an official Safe Haven site, where any parent may relinquish the care of a child they choose not to keep.

Our medical nursing units also have experienced staff. Many units are designed to meet the specific needs of our patients. We have four Intensive Care Units, featuring a design that allows patients to be seen and monitored at all times.

MWH also has Hospitalist physicians on site around the clock. Working with the patient's regular physician, a hospitalist provides ongoing care for patients while in the hospital.

MWH also provides a Palliative Care Unit to help incurable and terminal patients. Our multi-disciplinary team of care professionals helps manage pain and provides for the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
