FAMILY BIRTH PLACE Within the walls of Mary Washington Hospital, you'll find the Family Birth Place. As an important part of the Amy Guest Center for Women and Children, the Family Birth Place continues the tradition of celebrating childbirth in a safe and comfortable setting. Upon arriving at the Family Birth Place, Moms are made comfortable in a homelike birthing room to experience labor, delivery, and recovery. Supported by the latest technology, we offer a family centered birthing experience. After delivery, Moms and babies have a private room in our special mother-baby area where newborns can either stay by Mom's side or be attended to in the nearby nursery. Our skilled nurses place a special emphasis on parent education, and we welcome family members, including siblings. Our medical staff features skilled obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists, and certified nurse midwives.

We offer advanced technology and comfort measures, including a wide variety of pain-relief options, whirlpool tubs for laboring Moms, dedicated Cesarean suites, and a state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staffed round the clock by Board-certified neonatologists. To round out our services, we offer several childbirth and parenting classes. We even offer a siblings class that teaches kids how to be a big brother or big sister.
