Diagnostic care is an essential part of treating patients. Starting with the right diagnostic evaluation within the right time frame makes a big difference in patient care.

MWH uses the most advanced diagnostic technology and procedures available.

Radiology Services offers the most advanced imaging available in any setting. We are located next to our Emergency Department for rapid emergency response. A special enhancement called PACS allows physicians and radiologists to view images by computer, saving time for our patients. Often behind the scenes, our Pathology Department is staff with professionals who quickly and skillfully identify diseases and blood problems using state-of-the-art technology.

MWH's Infection Control program is one of the best in the country. Highly skilled physicians and clinicians quickly diagnose patients whose symptoms indicate an infectious disease, even for those patients with rare and unusual cases.

What to Expect: Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and will need a valid physician order and a copy of their insurance card each time we provide laboratory service. For patients who have standing orders (repeated tests) a new order is only needed once a year. Because we are part of Mary Washington Hospital, outpatient test results are part of the patient's medical record, and can be accessed for hospital visits.
Parking: Parking is available in the visitor lots outside of each location. For Tompkins-Martin patients, there are overflow parking spaces throughout the Hospital's Medical Campus, as well as shuttle service to and from parking lots.
Cell Phones: Cell phones are not permitted. Please turn them off when entering the facility.
Children: We provide service for children and adults. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
