We offer outpatient diabetes management and support. Our primary focus is diabetes education through classes and special events.
What to Expect: Participation in MWH's Diabetes Management Program requires a diagnosis of diabetes and a physician referral. Patients will complete a medical history form, present their insurance card, meet their educator(s) and receive an overview of the program. We review the diabetes disease process, reading food labels, healthy eating with an individualized meal plan, and blood sugar monitoring.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Wednesday evening classes are available. Parking: Parking is available in front of our office. Patients may be driven up to the front of building, with a short walk to the entrance. There are handicapped parking spaces and a FRED Transit bus stop in front of the building.
Cell Phones: Cell phones may be used outside of the teaching facility. We discourage use of cell phones inside as they can be disruptive during classes. Please turn off the ringer if you need to keep it on to receive a call.
Children: Children are welcome but must be supervised by an adult. Patients are responsible for children that are brought with them.
Family Members/Caregivers: We encourage patients to bring another adult to sit in on sessions, especially if the patient is learning impaired, does not speak English, or needs added support.
