What to Expect: Mary Washington Hospital is a 412-bed, full-service hospital offering advanced services usually found in major cities. Staff offer compassionate service as well. All rooms are private to aid in recovery. Hours: We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This includes our Emergency Department. Physicians are either in the hospital or on-call for all services. Services for the Public: The full-service Food Court is open at key hours for the convenience of our visitors. Hospital Registration Our Quality CaringBridge Medical Staff: Community-based physicians, specialists from Northern Virginia and Richmond, and health professionals such as physician assistants and nurse midwives comprise our Medical Staff. The majority of Medical Staff members have private practices. All Medical Staff members must apply for privileges, which includes a thorough review of all licensing and practice history at other hosptials. Over 300 area physicians and health professionals represent over 45 medical specialties. About 90% are Board-certified in their area of specialty, and several have credentials in more than one area. Helping Those in Need: We provide free care to any patient who receives treatment that is medically necessary and whose annual household income and/or resources are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. We also offer discounts to patients whose annual household income and/or resources are between 201% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Financial assistance is also available for some patients who experience catastrophic healthcare events. We will work with any patient who has difficulty paying for care to develop an appropriate payment plan based on the account balance and the patient's financial situation.
