Mary Washington Hospital Community Service Fund The Mary Washington Hospital (MWH) Community Service Fund was established in 1993 as an innovative and visionary way to address a wide range of health issues. Operating on an endowment of over $20 million, the Fund provides grants to local nonprofit organizations twice a year. Our history of grant funding totals $7,084,306 through the January 2008 grant cycle. The Fund assists regional nonprofit organizations that are improving access to care among our region's medically underserved, as well as organizations that focus on wellness, health education, and prevention. This cooperation avoids duplicating services and assures the best use of limited health care dollars. Some recipients are also partners with MediCorp Health System. The mission of the Fund is to provide financial resources to organizations that improve the community's general health status, contain growing health care costs, or to improve access for the poor and other medically underserved people.
